Welcome to Strathfield Golf Club
Situated in the heart of the Sydney metropolitan area, Strathfield Golf Club is within easy driving distance of Sydney's suburbs to the north, south, east and west. The recently re-developed 5882 metre course is an attractive and testing par 71 layout. The course provides a true challenge to the best of golfers, without overpowering the infrequent players.
Tree-lined fairways, astute bunker placement and the meandering waters of the Cooks River all contribute to an enjoyable test for golfers of all standards.
If you are planning a special function or event such as a Wedding Reception, Christening, 21st Birthday. Corporate Golf Day, Business Seminar, or simply a social game of golf or golf lessons please give us a call.
We would be delighted to assist in the planning of the event & helping you achieve an enjoyable experience for all concerned.
The Club premises feature a Members & Visitors bar (open 7 days a week), poker machines, A la Carte dining, 2 function rooms, an outdoor balcony relaxation area & Members & Associates locker rooms. The Club offers several options for the hosting of functions and is extremely popular for Wedding Receptions, Engagements,Business Seminars, Corporate Golf days, Social Club dinners and Memorial Services.
Members social functions are held on a monthly basis, normally on the third Friday evening of the month. In addition, members are always welcome to use the dining room for their own social occasions
In addition to the 18 hole championship golf course, members have access to the practice driving range, chipping green, practice nets and putting green. Visitors playing in that day's competition only, can also avail themselves of these facilities. During competition rounds of golf, a Half-Way kiosk is open for snacks after the 9th hole.If you are a beginner, don't forget to ask us at the Pro Shop about golf lessons.
COMPETITIONS
The Club conducts the following competitions:
- Saturday: Members (reserved times for Women)
- Sunday a.m.: Members (reserved times for Women)
- Sunday p.m.: Medley Invitation (usually a 2B Stableford)
- Monday & Friday a.m.: Open Medley 2B Stableford
- Tuesday & Thursday a.m.: Women's competition
- Wednesday: Men's invitation 2B (Professionals competition)
- Public Holidays: Usually an Invitation or Open Medley 2B Stableford
Starting Times/Booking Sheets
- Tee times must be reserved for all events ? Clubhouse release times are
- Sat/Sun - 5 a.m. one week in advance
- Mon/Fri - 7 a.m. two weeks in advance
- Tues - 7 a.m. Thurs 12 days in advance
- Wed - 7 a.m. 2 weeks in advance
- Thurs - 7 a.m. 1 week in advance
- Public Holidays - 2 weeks in advance
- A Member may only place their name plus the names of a maximum of three other persons on the booking sheet
- Reservations will not be accepted before the time sheets are released
- Competitors may only hit off within the times indicated on the booking sheet for that day (unless directed otherwise by the Professional)
Women's Tee Times
Unless otherwise determined by the Board or Chairman of the Match Committee, the 1st Tee is reserved for Women at the following times:
Tuesday/Thursday**
8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. 1/05 ? 30/10
8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. 1/11 ? 30/04
Saturday: 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
Sunday: 9:30 a.m. - 10.00 a.m.
NOTE: These tee times are subject to change
** Men must not hit off during Women's competition times
VISITORS
Visitors - When They Can Play
- Country or interstate Visitors who belong to an affiliated Golf Club may play with a member on any Saturday or Sunday morning up to a maximum of six times during the calendar year - subject to the approval of the Club Captain or the Chairman of the M & H Committee
- At other times and/or conditions as decided by the Captain or the Chairman of M & H
- Sunday p.m. - A Member may invite three Visitors ** who are members of affiliated Clubs to play in the p.m. Mixed Competition
- Monday and Friday - On each Monday and Friday A.M., there will be a Medley Open
- Tues/Thur a.m. Women's comp - as per the published schedule
- Wednesday - The Wednesday Men's invitation competition is conducted by the Club Professional
Members may invite up to three Visitors ** who must be members of affiliated Clubs. The Member must play in the same party as their Visitor(s)
** One Visitor only in June, July & August
Any one Visitor may play in a maximum of six Members' competition rounds per calendar year ? this may be varied at the discretion of the Captain or the Chairman of M & H.
