COURSE AND NEW CLUBHOUSE NEWS
This week we received delivery of the tiles for all of the club’s locker rooms and amenities. From next week a whole new stage of contractors will be starting work on the clubhouse finishes.
With the trenching and backfilling for stormwater along Weeroona Rd now close to being finished, the builders are scheduled to commence forming up and building our new entry road next week.
This week painters were back onsite painting more of the external cladding and soffits. They have also begun painting of internal walls and ceilings.
Flemmings have had a productive week on the western side of the course. This week turfing has continued on the new 9th fairway and green surrounds. On Wednesday the area around the reshaped pond on the 9th hole commenced. There are still wetland plants to be planted around the edges of the pond. Once this is done the outlet pipe to the pond will be adjusted so that the water level is raised to the edge of the turfed area.
Since last week the greenside bunker has also been completed, including turfing with zoysia, laying the gravel drainage layer and spraying with polymer, and filling with sand.
Turfing will continue down the 9th fairway towards the clubhouse as it arrives.
The drainage and gravel layer on the new putting green has now been finished. This green is over 1,000 square meters, which is over twice the size of an average green. Over the coming weeks topsoil will be spread around both of the practice greens, along with over 600 tonnes of sand which will be spread over the putting green alone.
Settlement and EXTENSION of occupancy
Yesterday Wednesday March28 we received our final settlement from Metro for the purchase of both the practice fairway and clubhouse sites. We have now been paid in full.
Due to weather and delivery delays we are still possibly a month away from moving out of the current clubhouse into the lower ground floor of the new clubhouse. We have negotiated with Conquest (the developers building the apartments on the club house site) to extend our stay in the current clubhouse. They have delayed proposed demolition of the current clubhouse which was planned for April 9 and will instead commence piling work along the boundaries of the site within the next few weeks.
Conquest have promised to “work around us” during this initial period that we remain in the current clubhouse. Metro have also been delayed in completion of the townhouses so they will still be sharing some of the car park areas with us. We will no doubt experience some car park congestion and changes in areas of access during this time but together with Conquest we will make parking and access as manageable we can.
Our caterers Peter and Kim finished up last week so we will not be holding any functions during the period we remain in the old clubhouse. This will ensure that we have as many spaces available for member parking as possible.
Singles KO
Qualifying for the singles knockout will be conducted on Saturday 14 April and Sunday 15 April.

Match Committee
PORTABLE Toilets
Please be advised that the portable toilets on the course have now been relocated to the area behind the old 12th tee, near the maintenance shed. As Flemmings are turfing the new 9th fairway there will no longer be access for these toilets to be serviced in the previous location.
NO DRINKS CART ON THE COURSE
A reminder for members that due to Peter, our caterer, no longer being with the club there will not be a drinks cart on the course during the interim period until we move across to the new clubhouse.
We have organised to have a variety of sandwiches and wraps delivered daily which can be purchased before the round from either the bar or the pro-shop. We apologise for the inconvenience due to the timing of these events. The halfway house at the new clubhouse will be up and running as soon as we are operational from the new site.
