COURSE AND NEW CLUBHOUSE NEWS

Another busy week of building is bringing the new clubhouse closer to completion.

The builders are still focusing on completing the lower ground floor first to allow us to begin operating from the new site in a limited capacity. The internal areas of the lower ground floor are currently being painted, along with light fittings being installed. Rendering has also started this week both inside and outside of the clubhouse.

The carpark has now been tidied up. All the dincel support columns have been pressure cleaned and it is nearly ready for line marking. This week the large exhaust extractions fans for the car park were also delivered and are ready for installation.

During the week the northern entry side of the building was glazed. Most of the glazing is now in apart from the section on the southern side between the lounge and dining areas. The frame for this is in place and will be completed shortly.  This will leave only the installation of doors to get the building to a lockup state.

On the course turfing of the new 9th and 18th fairways is ongoing. The majority of this areaa is now turfed, leaving a small area on the 18th, and a stretch of about 100m on the 9th fairway which includes the tee complex. The turf that was first laid towards the green and pond area received its first cut this week. The new tees on the 18th were also trimmed for the first time on Monday.

The new concrete paths from the pro-shop to the first tee and practice facilities are being formed up and pouring will commence early next week. The new tee pads on the 1st hole have also now been roughly shaped and sanded.

Flemmings have made lots of progress on the new 17th green this week. Since last week they have prepared the sub-base, roughed out the greenside bunkers, installed drainage lines, and are now spreading the gravel drainage layer. This is still a great time of year to be seeding bent grass greens, and Flemings are working towards having this green completed and ready for seeding by the end of next week. If this can be achieved we will be on target for the full course to be in play in early July.

SINGLES KNOCKOUT

The Singles KO qualifying is to be conducted this weekend. Please take note of the Conditions and Rules posted on the website and notice board, particularly in relation to the fact that the number of qualifiers is dependent on the number of entrants and the match play rounds are conducted on Saturday afternoons.

Match Committee

CONQUEST construction COMMENCING Monday

From this Monday Conquest will be starting preliminary work work in our current car park area. As part of our negotiation with Conquest they have  delayed proposed demolition of the current clubhouse which was planned for April 9 and will instead commence piling work along the boundaries of the site. The first area that they will be taking over will be around the western side of the building, from the staff parking area, to the area next to the pro shop.

During this time we will make additional parking available when needed on the grassed area of the old 18th fairway.

NO DRINKS CART ON THE COURSE

A reminder for members that due to Peter, our caterer, no longer being with the club there will not be a drinks cart on the course during the interim period until we move across to the new clubhouse.

We have organised to have a variety of sandwiches and wraps delivered daily which can be purchased before the round from either the bar or the pro-shop. We apologise for the inconvenience due to the timing of these events. The halfway house at the new clubhouse will be up and running as soon as we are operational from the new site.
