COURSE AND NEW CLUBHOUSE NEWS

The last few weeks have been an extremely busy testing time for the club and our members. It has been a nightmare coordinating the builders and coursework items to get us to the point where we can once again get members back on the course and enjoying their golf.

We have clear weather forecast so this should mean that the last segments of concrete paths around the pro-shop and 9th tee will be completed by the end of next week. We will then have proper access to both our new 1st and 9th holes, and from next Saturday, 14 July, we will be implementing a two tee start. A two tee start will provide many more tee times, and also allow us to amend the course routing so that the halfway house is passed half way through the round.

Over the last couple of days Flemmings have been trimming the remaining clubhouse surrounds. They have booked turfing for next week for the practice area surrounds, and also the new 9th tee complex.

In the clubhouse the ground floor is taking shape. Most of the tiling is now completed, including the alfresco areas. Drainage cell has been delivered and is also being laid in the areas in front of the event centre and dining area where we will be laying synthetic turf. The majority of the ceiling spaces are now closed up and have been painted. HRC are currently onsite and are connecting all the equipment in both the kitchen and the bar.

The course will be closed on Thursday 19 July as the section of road between the club entry and maintenance shed will be sealed. We will lose access to the entry ramp and carpark during this time.

On Thursday the club was able to host our first corporate golf day from the new Premises. This was for Metro Property who built the Fairway Residences on our old practice fairway. This involved 9 holes of golf followed by food and drinks in the clubhouse. Catering was organised and provided by our caterers Forte, who produced a great event considering the limited facilitates we currently have access to.
