Covid-19 Goodwill Package

Dear Members,

The Club Management and Board are well aware of the impact that the NSW Government COVID restrictions are having on Members access to the course.  Naturally this includes the sense of frustration that the impacted members would have in paying a membership fee without gaining the benefit of playing. 

As previously advised the Board has been considering how best to address this matter and we are close to finalising a "goodwill package" which we hope in part ameliorates the impact of the restrictions.  This package will include;
  • A mixture of bar credits and discounts on 2023 subscription fees based on the number of weeks that members were not able to access the course.  The value of bar credits will approximate the weekly value of the subscription category and discounts on 2023 subscription fees will be at 50% of this rate.
  • Once lockdowns are ended, members who were excluded from accessing the golf course will receive a number of priority time sheet access bookings. The number will be in proportion to the length of time members were not able to access the course.
  • A number of special events exclusively for those members most affected by the lockdown exclusion.
The goodwill package will require a tight set of rules which will include;
  • The member must be financial.
  • The member was restricted access due to the Government announced COVID restrictions.
  • Has not played more than twice since the imposition of the respective lockdown announcement for that member.
  • Would be capped to a maximum no of weeks irrespective of the length of lockdown.  We will determine the cap once lockdowns are lifted.
  • Must register on-line, advise what restriction impacted them and provide a copy of the proof of their residential address.

To our knowledge no Sydney based golf club has announced such a comprehensive package of COVID access restriction compensation as the one being considered for Strathfield Golf Club members.  We appreciate your continued patience and support as we finalise the scope of the goodwill package.
