Player Information – Drop Zones (Blue Stakes)

For some of our newer members and existing members, who may not know or forgot, we provide the below information on when and how drop zones can be used in play on the following holes 1,3,12 and 13.

1st hole – Players’ golf balls that enter the penalty area (Cooks River) past the bridge next to the 1st green, have the option to play their next shot, with a penalty stroke, from the drop zone (blue stake) at the rear of the green or may take relief under Rule 17 – Penalty Areas.

3rd hole – Players’ golf balls that enter the penalty area (Cooks River) to the left of the bridge at the rear of the 3rd green, have the option to play their next shot, with a penalty stroke, from the drop zone (blue stake) at the rear of the green or may take relief under Rule 17 – Penalty Areas.

12th hole – If a player believes their tee shot on the 12th hole may have finished in the penalty area (Cooks River), a provisional ball may be played from the drop zone (blue stake) near the bridge. All penalty drops from tee shots must be taken either at the designated drop zone or replayed from the tee with a stroke penalty. Dropping further up the line of the penalty area on this hole is not permitted.

13th hole – Players’ golf balls that enter the penalty area (Cooks River) from the 13th tee, have the option to take their next shot (with a penalty stroke) from the drop zone (blue stake) across the river, from the tee again or may take relief under Rule 17 – Penalty Areas.

Local rules can be found on the MiScore app in the menu section.
