Get Ready for the Ultimate Challenge – The Short Course Cup!

We’re thrilled to announce a brand-new event that’s sure to heat up the coldest day of the year – The Short Course Cup, taking place on the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, Saturday 21 June 2025.

This unique competition is your chance to go low, really low. Whether you’re aiming to shoot a personal best, rack up the most pars or birdies you’ve ever made in a single round, or perhaps even putt for eagle—or better yet, make one—this is your moment.

Playing from the forward (red) tees opens up new possibilities—but also new challenges. While some hazards might typically be out of reach, from this vantage point they’re very much in play. It’s a format favoured by elite amateurs and pros looking to break mental scoring barriers, and now it’s your turn to take the test.

Will you rise to the occasion, or will the course bite back? Either way, one thing’s for sure—the post-round stories in the clubhouse will be legendary.

Good luck and may the shortest day of the year deliver your biggest round yet!

Golf Marshal

Members,

Following feedback from the recent Member Survey, which identified concerns regarding pace of play, player etiquette, and course care, we are pleased to announce the launch of a Course Marshal Program aimed at improving the overall playing experience at Strathfield Golf Club.

Course Marshal Identification
Marshals will be clearly identifiable by signage displayed on their golf cart or transport vehicle.

Authority and Responsibilities
Course Marshals will operate under the authority of the Board and Club Management. They are empowered to:

Monitor player behaviour and pace of play

  • Warn or sanction members who fail to comply with the Club’s By-Laws or The Strathfield Way

Supporting Oversight and Data
To assist Marshals in managing pace of play:

  • Round time data and group spacing (gap analysis) are reviewed after every competition round.
  • The Marshal will be supported by Directors and Management, who will also be present on-course to ensure compliance with the Club’s standards.

We appreciate your cooperation and support of this initiative, which is designed to uphold the values of Respect, Enjoyment, and Integrity that define the Strathfield Golf Club experience.
