The 2025 Travelers Championship is scheduled to take place from June 19 to 22 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT. This event began in 1952 as the Insurance City Open and has been at this location since 1984. Travelers became the title sponsor in 2007, and since then it’s been a top PGA Tour event every year. It always draws the best players in the world, like Scottie Scheffler who won in 2024 after defeating Tom Kim in a playoff. The tournament is also a charity event. In 2024, it raised $3.2 million for 206 local organizations, and since 2007, it has raised over $31 million for charity.

This year Travelers Championship will be held at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut, USA near Hartford and is the only PGA TOUR event in New England. TPC River Highlands is a par-70 course, slightly shorter than other PGA TOUR venues. The fairways are Bentgrass, and the rough is bluegrass fescue making the game even more challenging.
The 16th hole is the most famous on the course, a 171-yard par-3 that’s tricky. The final stretches 15-18 are often called one of golf’s most exciting and dramatic finishing stretches.
June at TPC River Highlands is warm and humid, so dress light and breathable. Moisture-wicking polo and lightweight polos or shorts are the way to go. Light colours like white, beige, or pastel are best as they don’t absorb heat. A good cap or wide-brimmed golf hat and sunglasses are a must to protect yourself from the sun. Carry a lightweight and waterproof jacket, especially for early morning or late evening when it can get cooler or in case of a light rain shower.
