Spring Course Renovations Begin – Sunday 9th November

Posted on: 18 October

Following the Members Competition this Sunday, Spring Course Renovations will commence and run through to Friday 14th November.

These essential works are part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining top-quality playing conditions across the course.

What’s Happening This Year?

This year’s renovation program will focus on improving the health and playability of our surfaces through:

  • Scarifying – All playing surfaces (Greens, Tees, Green Surrounds, and Fairways) will be scarified to remove thatch (dead organic matter).

  • Scalping – All Playing surfaces will be cut shorter to further reduce thatch and prepare for coring.

  • Coring – Greens, Tees, and Green Surrounds. This process opens up the soil profile, allowing better air and water movement, promoting deeper root growth and healthier turf.

Topdressing – Greens, Tees, and Green Surrounds will be topdressed with sand to improve drainage and soil structure. This helps replace heavier soils and encourages new root development
