Ladies Pennant Competitions 2026
Posted on: 17 December
Thank you to those members who filled in the Intention to Play Pennants survey sent earlier this year.
Your many responses gave the club the ability to find Pennant competitions we could join.
Your number of willing players gave us the confidence that we could field a team each week of the competition.
We now have 3 competitions and a 1-day interclub competition over 3 grades.
- WD1 GA 8 to 23.5 20th Feb / 27th Mar
- WD2 GA 23-40 10th April – 11th May
- Bronze 1 Salver GA 18.0 minimum 15th May to 26th June
This email has been sent to all women players whose handicap falls in the range of 8 to 23.5.
Please let us know if you are available to play. If you already know of dates you will not be able to play, include those dates in your response.
We can prepare better that way. Once we have received a list of names, we will tailor messages just to the group of interested players.
We have had some new members since the survey that will fit into this competition if they choose to play. This will give us a safety net of available players.
WD1 begins mid-February. The playing team each week will be chosen from the 6 lowest handicaps available to play.
5 players + 1 reserve. This is the fairest way. You will be able to see where your handicap sits in relation to other willing players.
The great thing about the Bronze 1 Salver pennant competition, run by the Northern Districts, is that the handicap range sits smack bang in the middle of the two ranges of the WD1 and WD2 handicap ranges, overlapping the high end of WD1 and the low end for WD2. This is perfect for the players who don’t quite make it into the WD1 pennant side. I have included that draw below too, so those players can keep their weeks free. We will send out a notice closer to the time.
The Host team each week has a bye and does not play at their own course.
The draw for WD1 and Bronze 1 Salver is attached.
Your Pennant Organisers,
