Membership Applications

It will come as no surprise that demand to join Strathfield Golf Club has continued to grow rapidly. The significant improvements to our playing surfaces and overall course presentation—driven by the success of the recent irrigation and drainage projects—have positioned Strathfield as one of the most resilient courses in Metropolitan Sydney. Whether facing hot, dry conditions or extended periods of wet weather, the course is now performing exceptionally well.

To maintain a fair balance between member access to timesheets and the ongoing needs of course maintenance, membership across all categories is now officially closed.

From this point forward, all new applications will be placed on a waitlist and assigned a numbered position. This approach ensures complete transparency and allows applicants to clearly understand their place in the queue as opportunities become available.

To apply for a position on the waitlist, please forward your request to Matt Hilder at membership@strathfieldgolf.com.au

f you tee off from the southern side of the Cooks River when playing Hole 12 and your ball enters the Penalty Area (Cooks River), you may play your third shot from the point where the ball last crossed the margin of the penalty area.

However, if you tee off from the northern side of the Cooks River on Hole 12 and your ball enters the Penalty Area, you must play your third shot from the designated Drop Zone.

Blue Line Policy & Buggy Traffic

Members,

The Course Maintenance Team has done an outstanding job in developing and presenting first‑class playing surfaces. Thanks to their efforts, we have been able to remove many of the ropes and stakes that were both time‑consuming to maintain and detracted from the course’s overall presentation and aesthetics.

However, the image below highlights a growing concern: some members are not adhering to our Blue Line Policy, nor the requirement to keep buggies off and away from tees. These rules exist to protect the course, and it’s clear this is being taken for granted.

If this behaviour continues, high‑traffic areas will inevitably become compacted, leading to declining turf health and eventually unsightly bare patches. On a regular basis I will be monitoring this behaviour closely. Members who continue to disregard these policies may unfortunately face disciplinary action, including the possibility of suspension.

We ask all members to respect the Blue Line Policy, ensure your guests are aware of it, and keep buggies and carts on designated paths—never on or across tees. Your cooperation is essential if we are to maintain the high‑quality surfaces that everyone enjoys.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
