CLUBHOUSE CONSTRUCTION:
Members would have noticed that works have already commenced in clearing the new clubhouse site- the area looks like an atom bomb has gone off!
We have attached a link to a presentation compiled of photos and video taken from our drone which concludes with artist impressions of the new clubhouse.
The area will be levelled prior to excavation which should commence in another couple of weeks. As soon as excavation commences we will need to close the western side of the course for 4 -6 weeks, depending on weather, to allow an estimated 4000 truckloads of material to be trucked from one side of the course to the other.

COURSE WORKS:
The course will be closed next Monday and Tuesday for spring renovations. During this time we will build the haul road from the clubhouse site to the works area adjacent to the mound/ old 9th green.
The area behind the old 18th tee, 2nd tee and current first hole has been levelled and top dressed and we hope to have this area turfed on those days as well. We will also be removing a couple of small trees in front of the temporary hole on the old 3rd fairway as this hole will be in play once the western side of the course is closed.
The new green on the old 10th hole was opened last Saturday and members reports were very positive with comments like “this is the best green on the course” from many members.

GOLF TIP
This mistake in your takeaway is costing you major yards off the tee
If you can’t consistently find the fairway off the tee, there could be a simple fix. Hank Haney says players that have struggle off the tee are often letting their wrists roll as they take the club back. This is bad news, because it puts your hands in a position to allow the clubhead to move way inside and it creates a seriously flat swing plane. To be able to get the clubface back to the ball from that position, you’re going to have to manipulate the clubhead a lot. This is not a recipe for consistent ball-striking.
So, how do you fix this horrible situation? Don’t let your wrists roll. Instead, hinge them.
Here’s a little drill to help teach yourself what hinging your wrists and the correct position at the top should feel like:
Take your grip and set up. Pick up the club towards your torso, just using your wrists. If you kept going you’d hit yourself on the forehead with the club, but here stop when the shaft is parallel to the ground. Now, do a full body turn, and look at your position at the top. You’re back on plane — and your wrists are in strong angles instead of that floppy, rolled over nonsense.
When you’re actually hitting balls, think about maintaining the integrity of your wrists as you take it back and let them hinge, instead of roll. You’re going to get much more consistent contact. And that means more distance and more fairways.
