 COURSE AND NEW CLUBHOUSE NEWS

We would like to ask members to take care when entering and exiting the carpark. There are currently many cars driving too fast around blind corners. Signs will be put up to advise a 5 kph speed limit. Please take care to avoid any potential accidents.

On the course new bubblers will be installed next week. Custom fittings were required and are currently being assembled off site.

A new fountain has been ordered for the pond on the new 9th/18th hole. Delivery is expected in about two weeks time.

The synthetic turf has now been laid on the slab for our warm-up hitting bays. The cage will be installed next week.

In front of the clubhouse asphalt is going down between the corner of the entry road and the end of the maintenance shed, which gives us additional overflow parking in front of the clubhouse. Work on completing access to the loading dock area will continue next week.

On the ground floor the wall finishes are now being applied to a number of feature walls. All of the tiling of internal spaces is now complete and carpet will be delivered over the next couple of weeks.

Hand basins have been installed and water is connected in our members locker rooms. The taps are operated with a sensor that picks up hand movement. We hope that these areas can be handed over to us by the end of next week.

The Men’s Foursomes Championship 2018

A Draw will be conducted at 5pm this afternoon to determine the HIT OFF TIME for those players booked in the 36 Hole Championship.

This will be posted on the website shortly thereafter.

Players competing in the 36 hole championship are also advised that the ball must be played as it lies. There will be no preferred lies for members competing in the championship event.

Preferred lies through the green are still in place for all other players not competing in the 36 hole championship event.

COURSE ROUTING

Last week we implemented a new course routing. The holes are currently the same as our previous routing. With the concrete paths completed this routing allows us to bring golfers back to the clubhouse after 9 holes, and to operate a two tee start.

We will continue to play this routing for the next few weeks until the new 17th green is ready for play. At this time we will be able to play the course routing as designed in the masterplan. The par 5 15th will be playable in its full length. We still may need to play shortened 9th and 17th holes while the tees and fairways grow in.

We are trialing a two tee start on Wednesdays for a couple of weeks and will decide whether to go back to a one tee start or maintain the two tee start after this trial period.
